States May Be Getting Ready To Dissolve Our Federal Government

Could this be an ominous shadow drawing on the end of the United States of America? For years the Federal Government has presumed to be the all-powerful force governing our country, but it just could be that the Federal Government only exists at the pleasure of the state governments and the citizens thereof. States declaring sovereignty sounds like an act of secession and revolution. However the federal government can apparently be dissolved and another one formed anew at the discretion of the states. The existing Federal government may not leave willingly like so many European governments that are replaced routinely and it may engage a military effort with our own soldiers or the likes of a Black Water illegal military invasion to retain total control over us.

United States Federal Government laws are often in violation of the Tenth Amendment, which is perturbing, these events. This is predicated on an earlier provision of the Articles of Confederation, which states that, “Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence, and every power, jurisdiction, and right, which is not by this Confederation [now Federation] expressly delegated to the United States, in Congress assembled.”

A growing number of states are declaring their sovereignty afforded under the U S Constitution’s Tenth Amendment however the conventional news media are not telling you about what is happening. The State of Washington on Wednesday - 11 February 2009 and most recently, New Hampshire [2009], Montana [2009], Hawaii [2009], Michigan [2009], Missouri [2009], Arizona [2008], Oklahoma [2008], Georgia [1996], and California [1994] all of which have introduced bills and resolutions declaring and reaffirming their sovereignty. Some other states have done this in the past but then let the issue go. Additionally, the states of Colorado, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Alaska, Kansas, Alabama, Nevada, Maine, and Illinois are considering similar measures. More well may follow, such as Wyoming and Mississippi.

The Tenth Amendment of the United States Constitution, which is part of the Bill of Rights, was ratified on December 15, 1791 and states, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Historically, this was done to reassert the assignment of the remaining rights to the states and the people of our country if they were not specifically delegated by our Constitution to the United States Government. Further, Amendment Nine on the Construction of the Constitution, Ratified on 15 December 1791 states, “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.”

Etienne's Thoughts

It is about time the States stood up and declared their sovereignty!! The Federal Government is a creature of the States not the other way around. This strategy of legally disbanding the illegitimate, unconstitutional, criminal, corrupt federal government and replacing it with a new government represents our best shot at resolving these issues without a violent revolution. Pursuing this route, however, may still result in armed revolution because it is unlikely that the central banksters and power elite who have been pulling the strings of the shadow government will cede power peacefully. I believe the shadow government knows this is a threat and the reason why they have been wiping the iconography of Abraham Lincoln all over Obama. They will try to portray this a civil insurrection by rogue States and Obama as the savior that will hold the union together.

What YOU should be doing:

1. Contact your local state legislators and make it known to them that you support State rights and demand that your State legislature reassert their rights under the constitution! Here is my letter to my legislator:

Dear Sirs, It has become painfully clear that the Federal Government has become completely corrupt and destructive to and threatening of our individual liberties. I demand that you reassert States rights under the 10th amendment and, if necessary, begin the process to withdraw from the Federal government. I would also suggest moving to recall Frank Wolf and move to investigate him for corruption for disregarding the people's clear instructions to him not to vote for the "bailout". Please respond with your position on these issues and how you plan on proceeding. We are watching!

2. Support the legislators in your State that are promoting States Rights resolutions.

3. Begin acquiring tar and feathers for those legislators that are obviously working for shadow government.

4. Arm yourselves in the American tradition of the citizen's militia, organize with other like-minded freemen, and prepare to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. The best organization that I have found is The Appleseed Project which will teach you the basic skills of a marksman, the history of the militia and the American revolution, and will put you in contact with other patriots who do not intend to tolerate getting raped and robbed by these obvious criminals while sitting like fools in front of a teevee set.

5. Get prepped for an economic collapse! The dollar, the debt and the economy are acuarially unsound. The economy is collapsing NOW and, IMHO, can't be stopped no matter what BUT a serious challenge to the federal government by the states will only accelerate the inevitable.

Survival Retreat vs. Neighborhood Survival

Earlier this month, I posted Etienne's guest post Seeking/Starting a Survival Retreat in Virginia / Maryland / Pennsylvania / West Virginia. Today, I had lunch with Etienne de la Boetie and another prepper here in Loudoun County. We had a long discussion about survival retreats vs neighborhood survival. Etienne is a big fan of the survival retreat concept. He previously had a retreat where he did not own the land but where he was able to store a travel trailer recreational vehicle in which he pre-positioned various preps and supplies. Unfortunately, his friend moved and sold the property. There are four major flaws in the survival retreat separate from your home concept:

1. There are significant liabilities and social problems with communal retreats where one does not own the property - you are vulnerable to the actions of the others, particularly the property owner.
2. Property left at unattended retreats is vulnerable to theft and vandalism. This is going to be a growing problem as the economic depression gets worse, especially if we have economic collapse.
3. Getting to the retreat would be problematic in the event that it is actually needed - particularly in martial law scenarios where the military and law enforecement block traffic at key intersections or in cases where there are fuel shortages.
4. Relatively undeveloped retreats with a trailer and undeveloped land may not be sufficiently developed for long-term survival and offer insufficient space for storage of the various preps and other items you need. Many of these items would likely be at your day-to-day residence and you cannot assume that you can transport everything at the last minute

My view is that survival retreats only work if you live there full-time. Furthermore, although remote locations are further removed from the masses, they are also further removed from jobs, markets, customers, hospitals, and many other useful infrastructure and will be harder pressed to gather a sufficiently large group to cover all of the tasks needed in a true long-term survival scenario. Even the best special forces operator cannot defend his property 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Unfortunately, we are rapidly running out of time and it is probably already too late to relocate - especially if relocating means trying to sell your existing home in this real estate environment -- in my neighborhood we haven't had a sale in over eight months and anyone who bought in the last four years AND did the traditional 20% down payment fixed 30 year mortgage now has negative equity.

I am a big proponent of the concept that your family, friends, neighbors, and church are your survival group. Yes, I understand that many are unprepared and clueless about both the threats and what they need to do to prepare for them. However, your home is your survival retreat. Strengthen it to the extent you can, but your odds improve exponentially if you can organize your neighborhood and help everyone survive against the threat(s) you are facing in your survival situation. You and those in the group who are better prepared or who have the right skills are the cadre needed to get organized and do what is needed. The rest of the neighborhood are your foot soldiers and do'ers. My philosophy is to lead and organize but that charity starts with those who are willing to help themselves and help the group in the survival situation. In a survival situation, your first challenges are to assess the hazards/priorities/immediate needs, organize the group, secure the neighborhood, and scrounge/barter/trade for needed resources.

Be a leader. There are many things you can do to help develop your neighborhood group of family, friends, neighbors, and fellow church members and increase the odds of the neighborhood surviving:

* Get to know them.
* Have potluck dinners.
* Help them wake up and prepare.
* Start a garden club to help start victory gardens.
* Start a community watch program for your neighborhood.
* Give them a copy of Chris Martenson's Crash Course on the economy DVD. I bought a case of 30 and gave them as 2008 Christmas gifts.
* Give copies of Holly Deyo's book Dare to Prepare as gifts. I bought a case of 8 and gave them as 2008 Christmas gifts to family and several neighbors who got it and were starting to prep.
* Store extra preps for charity and be prepared to give when it is needed for survival.
* Learn about their skills, backgrounds, and interests - on my street we have a former Navy Corpsman/LEO/M16 Instructor/master scrounger/contractor/award winning BBQ chef who gets it and is starting to prepare, 2 nurses, a master gardener, an agricultural engineer / head of the 800 home neighborhood HOA, a Mormon family that does food storage, and six members of the neighborhood garden club run by our master gardener.
* Buy tools that would be useful that could be shared like tillers.
* Buy extra seed such as a 7 year supply of Survival Seeds and be prepared to provide seeds for neighbors
* Build a survival library of books and skills that you can use to train them when they need survival skills.
* Buy several extra surplus rifles such as the Russian Mosin Nagant or SKS rifles and stock extra ammunition to equip your "community watch" patrols.
* Invite them to go to a shooting range with you.
* Be prepared to give honest evaluations of whether individuals should relocate once a survival situation begins to relative's homes or even public shelters if that is the best option for them.

You will be pleasantly surprised how many of your family, friends, neighbors, and fellow church members that are starting to wake up and realize the reality and danger of our current position. This number is increasing every week. Don't simply assume that they are all clueless sheep - many simply need some education and a leader to show them the way.

The Appleseed Project – Turning America Back Into a Nation of Riflemen

To paraphrase the late Col. Jeff Cooper, merely owning a rifle no more makes you a rifleman than having a piano makes you a musician. But a rifleman is more than a skilled marksman. He is also ready and willing to use his rifle for its intended purpose— to defend life and liberty against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

As Col. Revolution, and where skill with a rifle is certainly not listed among the essential “life skills.”


But it is not too late to turn the tide, to once again make America a nation of riflemen “who know very much what they are about,” as one British officer described the men of April 19, 1775 who “gave ball for ball,” as they swarmed around the retreating Regulars all the way back to Boston.

How the Elite Control Politics

The elite keep the masses trapped in a false left-right paradigm that they control by financing the leadership and activities of both political parties. The elite offer up a fake Hobson's choice every four years and the two bought and paid for puppets argue over divisive "football issues" like gay marriage, flag burning, abortion, etc. They get the political base of the two parties hot and bothered and arguing over these topics while ignoring the real issues like: Double digit inflation, the cost of the war in Iraq in blood and treasure, the out-of-control national debt and unfunded liabilities, the illegal immigration crisis, the unconstitutional Federal Reserve, etc.

Both parties are different superficially but absolutely totally aligned on the big issues important to the ruling elite: Socialism, the Welfare-Warfare State, support for the wars and military-industrial complex, the fake "War-on-Terror", domestic spying on the American sheople, the unconstitutional Wall Street "Bail Out", etc. etc. etc.

Ron Paul for President - 2008

Etienne, from his perch overlooking the open pit sewer that is Washington DC, has come to the conclusion that Ron Paul is the only honest man in Congress. So obviously I am supporting him as President of the United States and encourage all my friends, visitors, and those simply interested in honest government to check him out! Here is a tribute from someone who knows him well.

The following is the forward to Congressman Ron Paul's 1988 book: Freedom Under Siege written by
Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr. the founder and president of the Ludwig von Mises Institute who served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Paul for a number of years.

Every American who cares about liberty owes a debt to Ron Paul. From his first run for Congress in 1974 through his gallant try for the Senate in 1984 to his present campaign as Presidential candidate of the Libertarian Party, Ron Paul has been an outstanding leader for freedom.

I had the privilege of working as Dr. Paul's chief of staff in Washington. And in
the often corrupt and always superficial city of Washington, D.C., he was a beacon of honesty and decency.

Even the advocates of big government came grudgingly to recognize him as the man they couldn't sway, the man they couldn't buy. His only concerns were freedom, peace, the Constitution, and honest money, and these same ideals animate his latest book.

Naturally, the criminals who want your tax dollars in their pockets found Ron Paul hard to deal with. Devotion to principle is not the engine of Capitol Hill. The backslapping, vote-trading politicians and lobbyists felt uncomfortable around Ron Paul, almost as though their shirt collars were too tight.

Greatness is often lonely, and it is never easy to oppose colleagues or the statist special interests who wanted Ron Paul to act as their errand boy to the Treasury. They were all amazed, and then aghast, at his refusal to play their game.

New Congressmen are always advised, in shady Sam Rayburn's words, "To get along, go along." They're told: "Don't make waves. Vote for the other guy's spending and he'll vote for yours. Do as you're told and you'll be taken care of." How easy to become part of the system, and reap the rewards of power.

For virtually every Congressman, there is not even a pause before he plunges into the trough. It is, after all, why he entered politics. But that was not why Ron Paul went to Washington. He sought a great rostrum for freedom, and he never sold out. He even opposed public works projects in his own district, a stand that still boggles every politician in America.

As Ron Paul patiently explained, he could hardly criticize federal spending in California while supporting it in Texas. But such consistency was outlandish. No one could believe his ears.

Over the years, Ron Paul's influence grew. Not with the politicians, but with the people. He educated millions, spreading the ideas of Ludwig von Mises and Murray N. Rothbard on runaway government, sound money, and the free market. Other Congressmen would be flabbergasted to receive thousands of their own constituents' letters telling them to vote like Ron Paul. As Andrew Jackson said, "One man with courage can make a majority."

Ron Paul has helped build the majority for freedom. In his campaigns, in the Congress, with the F.R.E.E. Foundation and the Mises Institute, calmly and without fanfare, he's worked for us and for our children.

How often I saw him at his desk, at 7:00am and at 11:00pm, poring over legislation and committee hearings most other Congressmen ignored, studying Constitutional history and Austrian economics, and writing some of the most eloquent words ever to come out of the Capitol. He worked hard and cheerfully, earning a fraction of his former income as a physician.

He would get angry at the goings-on. And frustrated. But he was never defeated, because he never forgot why he was there. Not to make a career in the State apparatus, but to help dismantle it.

He never made a promise he didn't keep, never violated his oath to uphold the Constitution, never desecrated free market or hard money principles, never voted to waste a cent or to raise our taxes, was never less than a pure champion of liberty.

We have not seen Ron Paul's like in Washington since the days of the Founding Fathers. And this book helps demonstrate why. On the economy, civil liberties, the IRS, foreign policy, the gold standard, the draft, and the Power Elite, he takes the hardcore, principled Libertarian position. He is the 20th century's Thomas Jefferson.

The Omnipotent State threatens us with inflation, expropriation, depression, war, and slavery. Republicans and Democrats offer only lies and loot-seeking.

But Ron Paul and the Libertarian Party provide honesty and decency: an America where we are free to work and to achieve; an America at peace with its citizens and its neighbors; an America of abundance and compassion; an America of healthy families and decent children; an America tolerant of peaceful differences; an America true to its origins in liberty; an America liberated from the Moloch State.

The remaining years of the 20th century hold out the prospect of State created war, pestilence, famine, oppression, and depravity. If we succeed in changing this specter, Ron Paul and the Libertarian Party will have made the difference.
